HIRARC Training
The fundamental principle behind any occupational health and safety programme should be the control of hazards. Hazards are an inherent component of every workplace whether they are recognized or not. They can have different effects on different people……….. short and long term illness, injuries and even death. They also have the potential to cause damage to plant and equipment.
Objectives
At the end of the course, the participant will be able to :● Fulfill the legal requirement under the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and the Factory and Machinery Act 1967
● Present the participants on the benefits of conducting Hazard Identification, Evaluation and Control exercise
● Enable participants to use the various techniques and tools to conduct Identification of hazards, including Job Safety Analysis
● Demonstrate to the participants on how Hazard Identification, Evaluation and Control can minimize loss of lives and property
● Assist participants on preparing for an Evaluation
● Equip participants on the skill of Controlling the Hazard i.e. using Hierarchy of Control Measures
● Analyze each of the identified hazards and state the perceived injury, illness or disease outcome and
the probability of an injury, illness or disease occurring
● Prepare participants to formulate conclusions and recommendations
